Q: Do I need a parking permit to park on campus? How do I get one?
A: Yes, all faculty are required to obtain the appropriate parking permit.  More information can be found at the Parking Services website.

Q: How do I get my Faculty ID card?
A: A faculty ID card is needed to access many services on campus.  For more information regarding ID Services and obtaining your faculty ID, visit their website.

Q: When will I get my university email account?
A: You will receive your Texas State email address when you get your Net ID.

Q: How do I get my office telephone set up?
A: Arrangements for faculty telephone service and long distance pins must made by departmental administrative staff. Telephone instructions including general operating procedures and voicemail set up, as well as repair service, can be accessed on their website. The University works with several vendors to provide faculty and staff discounts on wireless service.  Before purchasing wireless service in the area, you may want to contact some of the vendors on the telcom website. 

Q: How do I obtain my business cards?
A: Business cards must be ordered through your departmental office.  Contact your chair or administrative assistant to get the process started for your offical business cards.

Q: What is TRACS?
A: TRACS (Teaching, Research, And Collaboration System) is a new Texas State University open-source learning, collaboration and research content management system.

Q: Where can I get something notarized?
A: The Mail Services office provides a notary public.  You should call ahead to make sure the notary public is on site.  Contact Mail Services at (512) 245-2293 or visit their website for more information.

Q: Can faculty use the student health center?
A: Yes, services are limited.  Visit the Student Health Center for more information

Q: Can faculty eat in the dining halls?
A: Yes. The dining halls are open to both students and faculty.

Q: How can I obtain tickets for campus events?
A: Texas State proudly sponsors a variety of events from fine arts to athletics.  Many events are free while others require the purchase of a ticket.  Tickets for athletic events may be purchased in person or on the phone from the athletic ticket office.  Ticket information for fine arts events can be found with the event listing on the fine arts calendar.
